Megan Elliott

I studied Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Tourism, mainly because I left school not really sure of what I wanted to do, but I wanted it to be about people.

Through that, I discovered the craft of Marketing, with my first job being a very junior marketing role at The Canberra Raiders. We had a lot to do with Channel Nine and their local affiliate WIN TV. I quickly moved from marketing to television and found the life of advertising.

In essence, I found my “people” place as well as planned communications have consumers at the heart. Understanding what their lives look like, how they feel and how they interact with brands.

I’ve now spent 20+ years watching people, fascinated by the way we are all different, but measurable actions as a result of good and well-planned communications are always possible. A fascination with consumer behavior started it all and compels me still today.

I studied Business Administration, with a major in Tourism and an Honors in Marketing. Relationships built from my junior marketing role, lead to 5 years in television sales. Stepping into media agency land meant I was finally working with the full arsenal of the whole media landscape.

My role at AIS Media/Leeds Media in Melbourne rolled into StarCom as mergers and holding companies traded brands. Five years in Melbourne working on retail clients like Longines watches and FMCG with SPC Ardmona were paired with a portfolio of State and Federal Government clients. Moving to Brisbane my focus was on State Government and behavior change campaigns for the likes of Road Safety and Department of Energy.

I especially loved working with the Arts portfolio of Government with The Gallery of Modern Art, Qld Ballet and Qld Performing Arts Centre.

After 13 years I moved to Zenith Media and am loving the retail and health challenges of Lite n’ Easy and behavior change with Brisbane City Council. I lead a team of wonderful humans to deliver this.
