Emmagness (Em), is the Co-Founder of VAKA Consulting, a Marketing, Coaching and Training Consultancy. She helps businesses establish solid foundations in marketing through research based, customer-centric strategies and marketing programs. She is a Coach and Speaker focusing on helping people develop an empowered personal brand. Em is the Chief Strategist for Skilled Migrant Professionals Magazine and the Co-host of Empowered Voices Amplified podcast. Both these publications are dedicated to amplifying and elevating the stories of underrepresented groups in our communities. In 2023, she was named one of Queensland’s 40 Under 40, an award that celebrates young entrepreneurs who have demonstrated outstanding success and community engagement.
Career & Background
What inspired you to do what you are doing now?
I love Marketing and I enjoy working on different disciplines of the field. As a Consultant, I have the privilege of working on different projects which satisfies my multi-disciplinary and multi-passionate nature.
Could you tell us a bit about your professional background and where you are headed in your career right now?
I was Head of Brand and Marketing for a Fortune 500 Company, I’m now focusing on growing VAKA Consulting which I co-founded with my husband.

You as a Mentor
Why have you decided to become a mentor?
I am where I am today because I’ve had some incredible mentors throughout my career. These are the ones who pushed me beyond my comfort zone because they could see, could recognise something in me that I couldn’t see in myself. These mentors advocated for me and actively mentioned my name in all spaces. I want to do the same for other women, there’s so much room for all of us and I want to see those spaces filled.
