Career & Background
Could you tell us a bit about your professional background?
I started my career in traditional print media (sports) before navigating through digital publishing, digital production, and advertising. Over the past decade, I’ve focused on design and technology, primarily in the impact space.
I’ve recently stepped into the role of Delivery Director at Today, an innovation company dedicated to people and the planet. After more than nine years at Today, I’m excited to take on this new challenge—setting the vision for delivery as a practice and supporting our team on this journey. This marks an important step in my leadership path, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be doing it in a place I know deeply and where I feel truly supported.

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
My biggest inspiration is my paternal grandmother, Betty McVey. The seventh child in a working-class family, she grew up in the ‘doldrums’ of Fitzroy—hard to imagine now, given how sought after it is today. Forced to leave school at 11, she spent much of her early life working in her family’s laundry business.
Betty was cunning, determined, and always on the lookout for opportunity, never backing down in the face of authority. She went on to start her own handmade wedding accessories business, successfully introducing European trends to the Australian market.
She taught me the power of hard work, street smarts, and standing by your values—no matter what.
