Career & Background

What inspired you to do what you are doing now?
I’m not exactly sure what initially inspired me to work in advertising. I have a very literal/rational mindset, but I love it when I get to think creatively as well. So with this in mind, I do know that I always wanted to work somewhere with a strong mix of both business and creativity. It was either advertising or architecture.
What was your journey and where are you headed in your career right now?
Your favourite food for thought

Books
Zero to One // Peter Thiel
The Personal MBA // Josh Kaufman
The Fountainhead // Ayn Rand (mostly because this book always motivates me to persevere and ‘dig in’ when things get hard)

What drives and inspires you

What are your core values?
- Authenticity
- Optimism
- Perseverance
Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
Angela Ahrendts is my idol. To have taken a brand like Burberry who was so ‘on the nose’ and whose brand equity was dragged down by ‘Euro-trash chavs’, back to being a darling of fashion weeks right across Europe is no mean feat! And in 8 years no less. Is it any wonder that this lady-boss, retail power-house was wooed by Apple to become their retail lead and their highest-paid executive. She’s also a Mum. #seriousgoals
You as a Mentor

Why have you decided to become a mentor?
This will be my third year of mentoring with Assisterhood. I absolutely adore my past two mentees and the relationships that I have been very privileged to establish as part of the program, are enduring. I was at my first mentee’s engagement party just a few weeks ago!
What are the top 5 skills or qualities you bring to mentoring?
- Collaborative
- Connected
- Non-judgemental
- Nurturing
- Optimistic
