Theresa Lord
Marketing Lead, World Animal Protection & East Coast Tasmania Tourism
With over 15 years of marketing and advertising experience, across client and agency sides, I've had the opportunity to work with some incredible brands, across diverse sectors and industries, including tourism, finance and government.
I'm currently working a mix of roles, including keeping my toes in marketing, working at World Animal Protection and East Coast Tasmania Tourism, and starting my own business, teaching yoga, and offering a visitor accommodation focused on wellness.

Career & Background
What inspired you to do what you are doing now?
It always comes back to showing up and doing my best for my team. I love taking on new challenges and problem-solving to find solutions that work, and the journey to get to such solutions. Every day is an opportunity to help my team thrive and give them the nurturing environment they need to feel safe and excited to achieve great things too. In addition, starting my own business has been inspired by wanting to use all my skills and create something of my own.
What was your journey and where are you headed in your career right now?
I have dabbled in many industries and roles throughout my working life, including barista, baker, butcher, stylist and high-end fashion manager, makeup artist, and most recently advertising and marketing. The diversity stems partly from my never-ending curious nature and learning new things, and partly in my early 20s taking on various roles to fund my extended travel jaunts and in between my multiple (around 6) back surgeries, meaning I also needed extended time in bed for recovery and was unable to work and developed severe persistent pain at the age of 17. The common thread is my drive to do my best, push boundaries, and think creatively.
Where I’m headed in my career right now is continuing to work in marketing (part time), allowing me to focus on my own business, which is centred around wellness.
