Camilla Marshall
Director of Marketing at Mater Foundation
I bring over 15 years of experience across diverse marketing roles, including senior leadership positions at Virgin Australia, Allianz Partners, Endeavour Foundation and now Mater Foundation. Beginning my career in the corporate world, I specialised in data‑driven marketing and customer insight, and now apply that experience to the for‑purpose sector, where my passion truly sits. I love helping marketers combine data, creativity and technology to connect with audiences in meaningful ways and deliver impact that genuinely matters.

If I’m being completely honest, I’m not in the book‑reading phase right now! Life (and work) are a bit full! However, I tend to get my learning fix through podcasts instead, so see my answer to the podcast question for what’s currently shaping my thinking.

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
My parents. My dad immigrated from India and in the face of adversity, his positivity, belief in what he was doing and unwavering values system was a constant in our lives. Together, my parents constantly taught my brother and I lessons about helping those who need it most, while believing in ourselves and our own capability.
Together, these lessons have allowed us to strive to achieve, while always trying to keep humility and humanity core to how we operate. Now with my own children, I respect this so much more and appreciate how hard life would have been. I can only hope I can do the same!
You as a Mentor
Why have you decided to become a mentor?
There is so much opportunity out there and the world is changing constantly. It can be hard to know where to start or where to progress to and having someone to bounce this off is so helpful.
As a leader, I am also seeing some big changes in approach through our different generations in the work force! Regardless of age, there are core qualities of a great performer and I want to support the development of these.
What are the top 3 skills or qualities you bring to mentoring?
- Direct and honest
- Sees potential in others
